It’s not often you find an original 1980’s theatrical release poster for one of your favourite animated films here in New Zealand, but that’s just what happened in November!
Art once again beautifully framed by Eyeball Kicks on Cuba St.
I couldn’t believe my luck and made the quick decision to purchase the poster. It has now been framed and is taking pride of place on the living-room wall.
The film made a big impression on me as a child, with the beautiful lighting and backgrounds as well as a much darker story than other animated films I had seen previously. Although the story differs in some important respects from the book ‘Mrs Frisby and the Rats of Nimh’ by Robert C. O’Brien, for the most part the adaptation is true to the spirit of the original.
In other news for Don Bluth fans, An American Tail is being released on Blu Ray in America on March 4th! If you haven’t seen this classic, I highly recommend picking up a copy!
